"Staff — excellent. Food — very good. Location — amazing. But two minor quibbles. 1. Bar closes at 6 — right when I start thinking about a cocktail. There is a space above the reception that is set up like a bar but was never open the two times we stayed there. 2. Rooms are luxurious but there is no glass in the windows/doors so when it is hot (most of the time in Zihuatanejo) you have all the shutters closed for A/C so no view at all. "I liked everything about the property. What I didn’t like is that my room was in front of a restaurant that played loud music on the weekends. The staff at the front desk seemed to lack knowledge of the area and weren’t particularly helpful. So we approached the waiters who spoke English for information. They were extremely helpful and friendly. "

"This was my 3rd visit to the property and first since Covid, and the property still holds the same charm and hospitality since my first visit in 2014. The rooms have a lot of space and incredible views from most of them. Staff are so hospitable and the restaurant is great for breakfast, and lunch/drinks by the pool or on the beach. And of course the beautiful landscaping and the Parrots just complete the Old Mexico feel. Can't wait to return again and again!"

"Marea has great management and staff, from Sofia and Luisa who helped me book tours that were just right for my family to Jaime and Jenni at the front desk and the amazing bar and restaurant crew - Fernando, Rodrigo, Carlos and Tirso! Marea is on a 20 km stretch of pure white sand each with almost no one around! The property is beautiful and the villas with plunge pools on the deck, beautiful interiors and comfortable furniture make it hard to want to go beyond your own front (patio) doors! "

"This is a lovely property with friendly and very helpful staff. The beach is clean and beautiful and beach staff is great. The pools could use a little maintenance on things like broken tiles, but appeared overall clean and inviting. Spa staff was great. Only hazard I ran into was the two steps down off the bed in the middle of the night."
