"This hotel was an authentic Japanese experience. The staff were lovely. The food was quite good and the onsens we’re incredible. It is a bit remote. They do have a van that can take you to public transportation."

"We stayed two nights in a Japanese room with private open-air bath. It was fantastic. The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. Words cannot describe the private open air bath which we used as much as possible. We had dinner and breakfast included - these meals may be challenging for western tastes but if you're feeling adventurous, go for it! Unfortunately the public bath was closed when we visited so I cannot comment on this."

"I would give this 6 stars! The theme of the ryokan took us back to retro Japanese era. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor baths to the fullest. We will definitely plan to come back"

"What an incredible gem! We had a wonderful and memorable experience. Luggage drop off before check-in and then check-in itself was seamless (we arrived early and we just followed the instructions at the front entrance to label our bags and place inside the doors, and when we came back the bags were already in our room). "Amazing stay! Staff was kind and helpful. Room was beautiful and very comfortable. Great location off the main thouroughfare in Hakone so it was extremely peaceful. I wish we could have stayed longer!!"

"Great staff: we reached very late at night. The manager was kind enough to extend our onsen reservation for half hour without us asking. He stayed well past the midnight to make sure our onsen experience is complete! We are so grateful to him. Moreover, the facility is much nicer than we expected: Large lobby and living facilities, great decor and the private onsen is out of this world!"

"Great service from all staff. Public onsen was beautiful and could be accessed privately late at night or during day (late morning/ early afternoon) and private onsen can be booked at reveption for 45 mins for 3300 yen. You are provided with slippers and a yukata for your stay as long as the usual amenities in your room. The breakfast, tea with cakes, and drinks reception with snacks daily was a lovely touch.
