"Nice hotel if lacking a bit of character. Room was ok. It was facing the main road so a bit noisy - no chance of a lie in if you wanted one especially on the Monday. Very comfortable bed and very clean. A little on the cold side for my liking but was offered extra blankets if I wanted. The bathroom was really quite cold even with the heated rail on. Staff very friendly. Facilities are good and clean. The food at the restaurant was above standard - some very nice dishes. Breakfast was fine -...

"Corridors & hotel room tired e.g. torn wallpaper, scuffed table. Receptionist accused me of not paying for dinner the night before where I had to provide a credit card statement as proof of payment as apparently the till receipt wasn’t suffice & the Waiter didn’t provide a pdq receipt. Fantastic facilities & grounds & felt very festive!"

"As soon as we stepped in to the property I was happy. The check in went very smoothly. Every member of staff we came across was friendly and helpful. Our room was small, but had everything we needed. I loved that we had bottled water, a choice of sparking or still. Also nice hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee.The beds were very comfy with nice pillows and they had very nice fluffy towels in the bathroom.I would definitely stay again"

"Spa was excellent - very clean - lots to do and the choice of pools is great . I liked the 11am checkout as it gave us time to use the spa in the morning prior to breakfast and checking out . Surrounding area very nice , historic , beautiful town . The staff at the hotel were very friendly , approachable and helpful . All the the staff are a credit to this wonderful hotel . We will definitely be returning ! "
