"Soul Waqif is best area for traditional culture and walk-ability — charm, for short. A longish walk to main museums but good exercise. The new city requires a car to visit, as of course do sites outside of Doha. No alcohol in Souk Waqif and indeed only available in a few hotels elsewhere. Spend the money for a tour of new city and desert outside - there’s not much in the desert unless you like dune-basing and that sort of thing. Difficult to rent bicycles - but you can get a Lime or other scooter. A good place to learn how to scooter as the Corniche is almost deserted mostly. "
