"Excellence El Carmen has been the best resort i have visited to date! The staff is very friendly and professional. Our swim up room was amazing and fun to enjoy at all hours. We had delightful neighbors too so we made some friends! Excellence El Carmen has a host of restaurants and food available throughout the day and there wasnt a single meal that wasn't absolutely delicious! I'm an avid steak lover and enjoyed steaks at The Grill, Lobster House (surf & turf), and other and all of them were juicy and delicious. Every evening there were different fun events to jump into. Bars at almost every turn. I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about Excellence El Carmen. I highly recommend anyone looking for a great adults only resort! "

"So many great things to share about our stay. Check in/overall stay: Our stay really began when Javier pleasantly welcomed us. Javier than assisted us with utilizing my Expedia Gold membership to access preferred services. Throughout our trip, Javier went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. He did so by communicating and coordinating anything we needed for our room and dinner reservations. He even checked in to make sure we made it home safe. His assistance made this trip stand out as the best experience we have ever had in DR. We hope to see him again some day. Others: Wester, Randy, and many others were also friendly. Wester memorized my husbands name and we saw hime every day. It is easy to tell how this property must emphasize customer experience. Food: Great choices for everyone. Again, unique with each. Throughout the entire trip, we heard the words “it is my pleasure.” We will definitely be back "

"The resort is beautiful and the staff is really friendly. They have events each day and evening, but it can get confusing what is happening when. The signs were wrong and we were told to go to wrong place by a few people, so I would recommend going to reception and asking vs asking staff members on the grounds. I don’t think everyone knows what all is going on event wise. I did have an issue with being overcharged for shirts in the gift shop. They have a sign on the wall saying 1 for $18 and then 3 for whatever. I converted money so paid in pesos and wasn’t given receipt. When I checked the conversion I saw I was charged $74 for 2 shirts. When I went back to return the girl refused return, started throwing the tag on the shirt in my face ver aggressively, when I pointed to the sign she said it’s not for these shirts, which is right under it, I asked to speak to a manager she said she is the manager, I said for the whole hotel? She just looked at me. So I said I was going up to reception to talk to the hotel manager and picked up the bag. She then ripped it out of my hands, threw it down, and yelled at me. I’m fairly certain she was scamming. I did get my refund, but it was unpleasant. I did go speak to guest services and they did advise it is a third party but they went down immediately to address. So beware of the gift shop. Other than that, this place is beautiful and relaxing. I don’t think you would regret going here. "

"My stay at Ocean El Faro was nothing short of perfect from the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless, setting the tone for an incredible experience. The main lobby is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking architecture and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel like you’re in paradise. Team Blue entertainment was fantastic!! Not even few hours that we felt not entertained. Our toddlers loved the entertainment from Daisy club and we had so much fun with the adult entertainment. The shows, the pool entertainment, the evening performances all were extremely fabulous. We danced in the plaza with our littles and made such good memories. Special shoutout to Stephani, Marco and Melanie. Thank you for everything From the gorgeous pools to the pristine beaches, top-notch dining, and endless activities, Ocean El Faro exceeded all our expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. Without a doubt, we will be returning!"

"We had a great time on our trip to the resort! We found the food to be great at all of the a la carte restaurants and the buffet had plenty of options for everyone. The pools were all very well maintained and the staff was always very pleasant at every bar or restaurant we went to. The only negative we really experienced was that there seemed to be issues with not being enough chairs with people putting towels on 2-4 of them and then just leaving them there the whole day even if they were elsewhere. But I know that’s common at a lot of resorts and more on the guests than the resort. We also had a personal guest experience specialist named Johanser by staying on the el beso side who was very helpful and attentive with helping make reservations for the a la carte dining and answering questions. I definitely would come back again."
