"The building was old but very well furnished! Comfortable rooms, spacious. The onsen was fantastic. The guest house was understaffed, but the receptionist was kind. I would absolutely reccomend this place to stay, especially to make use of the Hakone FreePass! The Ropeway and the pirate ship were 15 minites away walking and the bus stop for the H and J lines were right outside the property."

"The staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Provided what we needed at request. We wish was that in them knowing we had a vehicle, that they were able to direct us to a nearby parking lot with affordable pricing. The signs are confusing at times. We ended up paying ¥3400 the first night for overnight parking and ¥6100 the second night in the nearby lots. Other than that, the room was clean except a little black mold near the AC unit. Deep. cleaning could be better. Happy with our 2 night stay...

"I’ve stayed in over a dozen hotels and such during this trip. Guest House Irodori Kamakura is by far the best and most comfortable place I have been. The staff, the owner Bushisan, and the neighbors are amazing and friendly people. I will genuinely miss being here. It felt like being at home. "

"The location of the hotel is amazing, you cannot be closer to the Great Buddha, it is also a good experience to sleep in an old Japanese room. That said, you then understand why old Japanese houses are not worth much and Japanese people tend to prefer living in some modern less exotic dwellings. "A great location right on the lake in Hakone. Although it looked to be fully booked we did not see other guests and it was lovely and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and were fortunate to see Mt Fuji for two days of our stay. The onsen in the room was amazing, we used it twice a day or more, so relaxing.
