"The property itself is very nice, but the old town area is not safe at night and the hotel should do better to make sure their guests can enter it whenever they want to come back from outside. We left for dinner and came back to the hotel at 9pm. There was nobody at the front desk to let us in for whatever reason and we were not given a front door fob or key. "Been here a few times . Great staff and friendly owners. The best view of Quito you can find. Cute hotel in a quaint area of town. Everything you want to do is only blocks away. The new metro in three blocks from the hotel and fantastic. Need anything just ask the owners they are always around and extremely helpful and speak perfect English. If I had one complaint it’s that for us low landers it’s even higher then old town Quito and can make altitude issues for some of us pretty tough. I would...

"So, we were fully aware that Quito had power black outs. Our other accommodations told us times, patterns, things to be aware of so we were good. Staff here not so accommodating and they didn't say they had no generator. So 6pm came around and it was complete black out, not even in hallways etc. Had to go out for dinner by torch in not the most safe district. We're pretty confident and ok with the black outs, if we'd been told that the hostel had nothing. "
