"Loved the resort, had a great time and definitely would stay again. As others have mentioned, the beach has eroded, but there are great beaches nearby. The ferry to Cozumel is only a 20 minute walk and there were plenty of activities each day from dance parties to silent discos to volleyball. The only thing that let us down was the sushi restaurant, the don’t actually carry most of the food on the menu, when you order spicy tuna, eel, salmon, they are often out of it and only carry shrimp. "Buffet was smaller, but surprisingly really good. According to reviews, the Asian restaurant was good but the Mexican places not so good. I found the exact opposite. Don’t order the catch of the day from the sit down places! Dry dry dry! Had a very relaxing time. Recommend the pool view rooms"

"Loved the hotel. So many things to do with kids. The beach is THE BEST! The food was good, many options. The water park had a lot of closed slides which was a bummer! Enjoyed the kids area with rock climbing, obstacle course, bowling and trampolines. "

"We enjoyed our stay. The only negative for us was the beach. The shore is very rocky and not conducive to playing in the surf. We loved the Japanese and Brazilian restaurants. They were amazing!!"

"Resort was fairly new and very nice. Dining was very good and we enjoyed all the restaurants. Jacob (beach guy) was very kind to us. Also, Jose at the Market Cafe was very kind. The two ladies that worked the beach/bar area during the week weren't so nice. They were rude and didn't do much to keep us with drinks. They seemed to be lazy and stood in the shade most of the day. We had a great stay and would go back. "

"We had a good stay at the Reef with our family. Wish there were a few more food options. Especially as a vegetarian. Would be nice if they offered veggie things at the poolside restaurant. Buffet was good and service at the restaurant was always great. I really wish the entertainment started earlier. We have young kids and unfortunately had to miss out on the entertainment every night because it started at 9 or 9:30pm. Also the earliest you can eat dinner is 6:30pm which is quite late for kids...

"First time at this property, 5th time in Mexico and 2nd time at a Riu Resort (Ocho Rios). The property was beautiful, well laid out and maintained. It was spotless! Check-in was easy and our rooms were ready a couple hours early. The rooms were fresh, clean, no smells and the air conditioning worked perfectly. There is a tub in the middle of the room; weird but it made for a good clothes hanger! The beach and pool were perfect. Chair hogs around the pool but plenty of loungers on the beach....

"it was close to 5th Ave, and the beach. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Hotel was clean and food was great, and it was good time. Only one issue, which was outside noise at night was very loud, but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. I would go back again as it was a very good vacation!"

"I really enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental Presidente in Cozumel. Amazing beach with a reef that was as active as others around the island. The food onsite was stellar and the access to town was quick. My room was spacious and very comfortable. Wish I never left! "

"everything was terrific. the only feedback I would give is the family-side restaurants are very, very, very noisy. Add some plants, curtains, cushions, ceiling tiles, table separators to quiet the noise. Also please, please, please post signs do not feed the fish. "We took our parents and found the property very accessible and had everything we needed including a very nice spa and gym. Staff were very friendly! Convenient shopping and activities nearby. The only downside was the system used to book reservations in a la carte restaurants. If you have privilege status, go to the Bloved restaurant! Fabulous meals and service there!"

" It was very refreshing to be at a small resort among the giants. The dining is limited and although there was a kids club, there were no kids for my kiddo to play with. We were there for 10 days and by the end we felt like we were over staying our welcome with the service staff. "

"Beautiful small resort though kind of a maze getting around. Cute rooms, good food,great staff!!! I was stung by a jelly fish and staff cleaned my blisters every night - Entertainment was really good and the entertainment manager, who's name unfortunately escapes me :-( was AWESOME!!! If you smoke there are designated areas only and STRICTLY enforced. Lots of animal interaction, coatis, wild pigs, cats (which they have a nice sanctuary for) flamingos, iguanas. Nice pools. We would love to go back. Thank you :-)"

"We had a great time and would definitely return. The rooms are small but clean. We had some water dripping in from what I assume was the AC unit. We didn't make an issue of it, because we didn't want to mess around with changing rooms. The restaurants are hard to get reservations to, but we got a reservation to the Oriental restaurant and it was great. The rest of the time we ate the buffet which always had something we liked. The staff was great, drinks were easy to get. The beach area was beautiful and we spent most of our time there. Great resort to go to especially for families. "

Villa Mapache- Cozy Jungle Retreat, Private Pool, Breakfast, 5 mins to the Beach

Amazing, beautiful, wonderful

"The villa is just off the road (highway) connecting west and east side of island. Enough out of town to make you feel like you're in the jungle. The birds and lizards are super cool too see and hear as you eat the breakfast made by the onsite chef and brought to your villa in the morning. The host was really great at getting us everything we needed such as rental car, ebikes, suggestions on the island and activities. The villa itself was so clean and with the a/c was very comfortable. The inside pool we had was just warm enough you could sit in it and just cool enough to cool you off after the hot day. It is truly a wonderful place to stay on the island. We were able to cruise the east side of the island and take a dip and another day enjoy one of the beach clubs on the west side of the island. This villa is perfectly located. Provides privacy, amenities and the nicest staff you've ever meet! Stay, you won't be disappointed."
