"The property was lovely, as was the proprietor. In fact it was really special. What was not special was our rooom. We paid a significant upcharge for a nice room with a terrace, but it was just roof of a porch, and not grand or luxe enough to justify the upcharge. The furniture was not original to the historic hotel."

"Buck Inn is a beautiful historical building in a very quiet area. I do believe there were crickets in the basement, but fortunately, I love the sound of crickets. Our room, the Van Gogh, was spacious & comfortable. "Very charming historic inn. Staff was nice and helpful upon check-in, and when i accidentally locked my key in the room. I booked the Bouvier room on the 3rd floor which was quiet and comfortable. Being a historic inn, I went in with the expectation that it would be low frills, which is was. But for the price, I think it's a great option for anyone staying in the Newtown area who wants historic charm and to be in the walkable State Street area. "

"Beautiful Victorian house with great location . Walking distance from every restaurant and shop . With that comes the noise though . You can hear people all night long with the bars that are located on the street . The hotel wasn’t great for hot water either in the few days we were there I was only able to take one actual hot shower .
