"We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Very nice & clean with great staffing. It’s only couple of minutes walk to the venice beach. The only thing I have to say, be aware of parking fees. They don’t tell you in advance. After 3 days stay, I was surprised with over $300 parking fees!"

The location is walkable to everything in Santa Monica, yet for an extremely reasonable price. I hesitate to write such a positive review because the Gateway is like a best kept secret!! "Everyone who works at this hotel is amazing, from the cafe personnel to the front staff and the cleaners! Everyone is very friendly and helpful, the only thing is that the hotel smells like Marijuana, even though the property tries to keep the smell down. The whole area in the San Fernando Valley smells like it. "
