"Our flight to Cairo arrived at 6am and we got to the hotel at around 8am hoping to at least leave our luggage until we could check in, but the hotel staff was able to check us in earlier which was very much appreciated. "Really unsafe place. No hotel but hostel located in the 4th level and the elevator is from 150 years ago with almost no maintenance at all. The below 3 floors look like abandoned. One night we had power cut off for one hour, it was general but we were wondering if this happens to you in the elevator. There is no common area and breakfast is in your room in a small table put in front of your bed. You can listen all the other rooms, toilets and reception."

"We loved staying at this hotel. In case you don't know, this used to be a house for a famous Egyptian singer (Om Kolthoom) from the 60s and got converted into a hotel. So, the whole hotel is themed around this singer (photos, decor, signage on doors, etc.). I loved that because I love this singer. It is in a great neighborhood (Zamalek), surrounded by embassies and luxurious old houses on the street behind. The location is also good because it is somewhat central and you can easily take a taxi/Uber to other locations in Cairo. The rooms and bathroom are spacious. The balcony is just beautiful with amazing views along the Nile river. The staff were very respectful and helpful. The breakfast had many varieties of food and service was excellent. On our last day, we needed to keep the room till 6 pm and they allowed us to do so (of course with an additional charge). Again, the staff are very helpful. I would definitely stay here again! "
