"Modern upto date decor. Very clean and tidy. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. The only gripe was that I used the 'contact the hotel' on Hotels.com app asking whether we could park the car in the morning before 3pm check in. No reply received. I sent a second message. No reply. I filled in an on line check in, including car registration number but still had to do the same form again at the hotel"

"One of our go to places when up in Kendal for business. Clean & friendly and a good choice of things on the menu. Food is delicious! Only downfall we had was we booked a certain table for dinner one evening and one member of staff had moved us and was quite rude about it! Original table was empty the whole time we were in the restaurant! Wouldn’t have minded if she had been polite and explained why the move had been made!"

"Such a lovely place to rest our head for the evening. Walking distance to the train station where we met our tour guide for the tour of Hilltop (Beatrix Potter’s house). The breakfast was absolutely delish! Staff was so friendly! Our room was spacious and so very clean. Also, our bed was quite comfortable. My daughter and I loved this place."

"Lovely comfortable room with a lover shower. Little noisy as above restaurant but to be expected when staying in a pub. The team Thomas and the nice lady who served evening dinner were absolutely amazing. Service was triple As. Would definitely return . Thank you "

"It was a one night stay and the kitchen was closed. They phoned ahead to tell me and the staff on that night were really friendly I also managed to get a cheeky wee burger as the work was done so quickly! Yummie "

"Service was so good and the food was of high quality very tasty. Our room was ok at first cold but warmed up soon I asked. The bathroom was odd but tight for space so I felt the room was quite small for two people but honestly the staff made up for the lack of comfort."
