" A Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Lisbon! I recently stayed at in Palácio das Especiarias in Lisbon, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Lisbon’s charming streets, historic sites, and vibrant nightlife. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated, offering both comfort and style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a long day of sightseeing. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities, from high-quality toiletries to the complimentary coffee and tea. The staff truly made the stay special. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and eager to help with recommendations for restaurants and attractions. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made me feel right at home. Breakfast was another highlight—delicious, fresh, and with plenty of options to suit all tastes. "To review this hotel, is to differentiate between what is feasible within the capacity of the staff and what is beyond them (owners). Areas of strength - Some of the staff were pleasant and helpful. - Breakfast is solid, and quite honestly excellent. - The view from the suites is absolutely stunning. - The manager of the hotel is responsive, considerate and incredibly willing to meet expectations within reason. - Bed is very comfortable. Areas of weakness: - the property in terms of rooms really needs to be refurbished. I came to the conclusion that this had more to do with the owners of the hotel being complacent. - 1 or 2 members of the reception were frankly quite cold and not very service oriented. Perhaps for future safe-guarding all reception staff need a reorientation into how to welcome/treat guests staying at a 4 star hotel. Otherwise, all in all, it was a good stay. - "
