"If you’re looking to be away from the tourists in Tekapo, this is the place. Only 15 minutes away, it’s almost the middle of nowhere, in a good way. Just a few rooms, in a beautiful mountain setting, and if it hadn’t been so cloudy the starry sky would have been amazing. Quirky retro display across the highway and local history on display. "When traveling in this area you don’t have many options, either this place, or the hotels in the Mt. Cook village. The location is amazing and an easy walk to the lake for sunset or sunrise. We stayed for 1 night and it was OK. The room was full of flies, the front desk said they don’t bite, which probably is true, but still, the flies were everywhere. I asked for a fan and they don’t have. Due to the flies you cannot open the windows so it was a hot night. I paid almost $200, which for a...

"Lovely spot to relax for a few days. Views are amazing of Mount Cook. Food was excellent and the service and staff were so attentive to our needs. Great spot. Would highly recommend."

"On the way to Queenstown this is a perfect stay. Roomy, all the amenities. Rooms are big and the staff friendly. Good buffet option for dinner and breakfast is included. (Buffet). Place is quiet and relaxing. Has a couple of breakout rooms and a very comfortable reading room. Couldn’t fault this place. Feel really rested after a good night. "
