"If you’re looking to be away from the tourists in Tekapo, this is the place. Only 15 minutes away, it’s almost the middle of nowhere, in a good way. Just a few rooms, in a beautiful mountain setting, and if it hadn’t been so cloudy the starry sky would have been amazing. Quirky retro display across the highway and local history on display. "When traveling in this area you don’t have many options, either this place, or the hotels in the Mt. Cook village. The location is amazing and an easy walk to the lake for sunset or sunrise. We stayed for 1 night and it was OK. The room was full of flies, the front desk said they don’t bite, which probably is true, but still, the flies were everywhere.
