We were disappointed that the spa was closed, an odd decision to close the spa at the weekend when travellers are most likely to want to use it. "We arrived there for a couple nights away. Reception staff were very welcoming. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable for our nights away. Being situated on an industrial estate it was very quiet at night Had a meal in the bar/restaurant. The set menu was shown. The meals were good value for money and again staff were excellent. "Good, solid place. It really is a monastery with large grounds and impressive buildings. Welcome was very friendly and helpful. The property is dated, but in fairly good order. Bed was good.
