"There’s no question it’s a beautiful home overlooking Lake Como, with a charm that is remjniscent of something out of a Harry Potter novel. Unfortunately, the home itself self has a fair amount of deferred maintenance. "If you are looking at visiting the Lake Como area with your kids, or other families, I strongly recommend Mandello and Villa Ornella. The layout of the house is great, the size perfect to accommodate 2 or even 3 families and Furio was a great host. It was just me and my wife and our 3 young (and restless) boys and we had a great time. The pool and the living room with the amazing veranda were perfect family entertainment areas. "Though we had to travel for 26 hours to get to Barni from Australia, the experience was worth the effort. Being in a quiet village and being able to engage with the people in the village certainly made the stay in the Villa extraordinary. "This was our second stay in this beautiful villa and we enjoyed our stay even more since we were familiar with the area. It is located near enough to tourist-busy Bellagio, but far away enough that it is relaxing and quiet. The villa is beautiful and nicely furnished; the owner responds quickly and is welcoming.
