"Budget friendly with friendly owner Yu, who was a spring of information on travelling around Bangkok and other places in Thailand. It was like living in a hospitable local's house. Appreciated the rooftop with free coffee and tea. The hostel is within walking distance to the Grand Palace, and then from there it's an easy walk to Wat Po, then a river crossing to Wat Arun. "Checkin staff were good but on checkout they neglected to return the cash deposit and apon realising I needed to return and get it back. The place was dirty, as in not ever cleaned properly dirty. Ok the place is old as the name says, Dang Derm translates to Old Place, and it’s in need of a refurbishment but grime on the floor from not being mopped is unacceptable. Then there’s the water in the shower, hot then cold, hot, cold, extremely hot then cold. Not recommended."

"The most horrible place you can find. There is a discotheque bellow the hotel. It is not just noisy, even with noise cancelling headphones you can feel the basses. We needed to stay overnight for flight early morning. At 04:00am the show was still going on. The room is dirty with bugs, we found some dry excrements left next to the toilet door.
