"Great location right on the ocean front. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Charming gardens and pool overlooking the sea. They are in the middle of painting one wing which wasn't particularly disruptive. The rooms are a bit dated but the view from the balcony and the very atmospheric bar make up for what the rooms lack. On Thursdays the bar hosts local Hawaiian musicians which is really nice."

"Charming hotel & room! No TV or AC, but with the fans with the lanai door open the ocean breeze was amazing. Didn't need a TV, it dIdn't fit the vibe of the Big Island for me.
