I was able to walk into town every night with a great choice of local cafes, restaurants and pubs. My room was fantastic. To my surprise I had what looks like a new but very large bed. My room was completely renovated. New bathroom fittings good water pressure. I was on the top floor and found it very quiet at night and it was well heated. My room was made up every day...

"A great find in the Lake District. The hotel was easy to find down a quiet street in Windermere. The room was cosy and clean and while compact (as described) it had everything we needed with the complimentary slice of cake each day a welcome bonus. The breakfast was amazing and staff were happy to accommodate any likes / dislikes around food. Definitely would return in the future."

"We stayed in a Shepherd's hut and it was great! Lovely location for going walking (only about 10min drive from a car park to go up old man coniston) Was super cosy and warm inside the hut, everything you need to prepare food, a tv to watch Netflix etc and bed was decent. It did get quite damp in there at night leaving the corners of the bed a bit wet in the morning but nothing too extreme. (Might be worse after more than 2 nights though.) "The property is in an ideal location for access to the town pubs and restaurants in ambleside with free parking close by ,the property is well presented and clean throughout our room was spotless with tea and coffee making facilities, comfortable bed, and tasty varied breakfast we would return with no hesitation well done to the owners megan and john"
