"We chose a bad day to go, there was a Christmas fare on in a marquee in the grounds and the place was packed out with every available member of staff busy in the restaurant, so there was no one mannig the reception, so, we did as the notice on the door said and asked a member of staff to check us in, and although she was rushed of her feet she got us checked in along with another couple who had also arrived. "I think its my 3rd visit to the Windmill The floorboards are creaky, the phone signal is really awful. (But that does have a positive, no disturbances) Its a lovely little place to stay! The staff are fantastic. It's spotlessly clean. The restaurant is great, too much choice and very, very tasty. Although it's right on the A19 its peacefully quiet. A cracking little place that's quirky and does exactly what is says on the tin. Cheap n cheerful 😊 "

"We finally got to The Holly Hill Inn, due to the weather (snow) we were contacted a couple of times by the staff, warning us about the weather, which was nice. When we arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful and we arranged to have food in the restaurant, which was first class, and the breakfast in the morning was just as nice,, so highly recommended this place…. "Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed and the en-suite bathroom was a good size. The only downside was that the toilet flush handle was broken but still worked. It could have done with better lighting in the bathroom as you couldn’t see in the mirror very well. The room was immaculately clean and had a sofa and tv with easy to connect to WiFi. Personally I struggled with comfort of the bed as I found it too soft but it was dressed with clean sheets and had extra pillows in the wardrobe....
