"The staff was nice, I enjoyed the towel animals very much. The facility was clean. The food was good, no RSVP needed for the restaurants. The pool side activities were fun and hilarious to watch. It was a very nice experience. "

"The property is gorgeous and the staff was remarkable and extremely service forward. There were a large variety of pools and restaurants to choose from, and all the food was good to excellent. We knew the property was remote, about a 40 minute ride from Puerta Vallarta, which meant taxi or uber rides to get anywhere ($20-30USD each way). The rooms were clean and comfortable and housekeeping was thorough, including a daily restock of the free mini bar in the room. but beware that there is construction on one side of the resort and we needed to change rooms when we arrived, that wasn’t the view we came for. We opted to attend a presentation for their vacation club bc we were given a VIP access to Secrets for doing so. Without that access the choices for restaurants and pools would have been very limited. Be aware that the beach at the property is very rocky, not great for beach walkers. But the waves are good for surfers and it was fun to watch them from many of the pools and restaurants. Cons were minor. Bath towels were scratchy, light switches in the room were in an odd and inconvenient spot, and music at almost all the pools tended to be loud and thumping nearly all day long making it difficult if you just wanted some peace and quiet and listen to the waves. One last thing, Amstar has staff onsite to book excursions but they don’t include shuttle to the meeting place so plan to add $40-50 USD for round trip transportation to the starting points. "

"I wasn’t sure how I was going to like the beach being so far away but it works ! It is very well run and the staff were awesome . I had an accident on my 2 nd day and it was nite time . They called the hospital and I went in a cab . I had broken fingers and didn’t want to go home . I had them bandaged and splinted so I could enjoy the 6 days I had left . The resort stepped up and offered if I needed anything just let them know . They brought me room service and buckets of ice for my hand . Everytime I seen anyone they were asking how I was , it was comforting because I was by myself . The resort doctors were both awesome and the staff were very helpful in helping me get the money I was overcharged back from the hospital . I felt very grateful to be there . I like to walk so I walked around the resort instead of taking the golf carts whenever possible . They was lots of stuff for kids to do . I didn’t check out the water slides but heard from adults that they enjoyed it . Manuel and the manager went that extra bit to insure I was doing good and are very good at their jobs and customer service . I caught the shuttle everyday and went to the beach and looked for shells . They serve food and drinks that are included . Great staff at the beach club . The one thing I would say is I wish there was more than the 3 restaurants . I m a fussy eater and mostly ate dinner at the Japanese restaurant . I would go there again with my husband , too bad the kids are grown up it would be fun ."

"This is the second time I stay at a Riu resort and I’ll definitely be back. Great entertainment, great food, music, pools, staff. I highly recommend this place. The only thing I didn’t like is that they allow people to save the pool chairs even if no is there using the pool. People would leave their towel or belongings on their chair and that would save it for them even overnight for days on end. That’s the only thing I didn’t like. "
