"Clean, efficient check in, good value. Only negative being the cold shower in the morning (in both of the upper bathrooms). If this was fixed I’d stay again. "

"The room was nice and cosy, with lovely fireplace character. The sheets and towels were crispy clean and ironed. The private bathroom was great with warm tile floor as well. My remarks - one of the steps leading to the bathroom had a torn off carpet, so it was sliding. There was a little bit of dust here and there. Other than these, my stay at The Stag was very enjoyable. "

"Room 10 - right by the office. Handy for car park to rear. Quite noisy when the office is busy. When I arrived the guy on the desk said 3 nights for 3 people (I corrected him - 2 nights for 1 person) I was then shown to a single room which I assume he hadn’t planned to give me. He quickly removed what appeared to be used towels from the bathroom and replaced them. "A fairly basic small B&B type hotel with a few rooms and a kitchen that guests can use to make tea/coffee or your own breakfast. Everything was very clean and my single room was small but very quiet and had a refurbished bathroom with good shower. Friendly owner was very welcoming. The location was convenient for the Tower Hill area with good tube connections from there and/or Aldgate East."

"We had a large room at front of pub with kitchenette microwave fridge wash basin en-suite adequate modern shower and toilet a desk and ideally located and within walking distance of Canary Wharf and 20 minutes to Stratford and the pub does good inexpensive food"

"For the price and location this guest house was very good. It was a shared bathroom and the bedroom was clean but shabby in some parts. If you’re going in expecting the ritz you’ll be disappointed but I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was. Perfect for my needs"

Quite compact (especially the bedroom/bathroom areas) but it was entirely comfortable for a solo traveller like me :) It’s a private apartment attached to the host’s house, but you’ll have your own separate entrance to the outside, which makes it easy to come and go as you please.
