"My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting. The room was spacious, comfortable and the heated bathroom floor tiles were such an appreciated luxury to us that day. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel...

"The interior design is nice, but the washroom is very small. The soundproofing is also lacking—we kept hearing doors shutting throughout the night, even at midnight and early in the morning. Breakfast is just okay, and overall, the hotel could use a lot of improvement."

"Amazing location, great breakfast. We had one restaurant meal which was good. Used Kitchen for other meals. Used hot tubs and room was very warm and comfy. Would definitely recommend. Nearest supermarket is probably about 20 minutes in Borgarnes."
