"The hotel offers great value - large room, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom - and an excellent location with good access to the highway entry / exit. My only gripe - as an expat living in Japan - was being asked to have a copy made of my ID; something (unfortunately) required of visitors to Japan, but not expats living here. "This is a wonderful place to spend a few days. The ryokan is very authentically Japanese. The staff was helpful wherever we needed them. The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."
