"Staff got me a room at 11am on the day of check in, way earlier than the regular check in time, that is awesome because I needed some sleep from a redeye flight. I checked out at 12pm but stored my luggage and they have shower facility for a fee of less than US$3 which is very inexpensive. The breakfast was awesome, so much selection in the buffet. "After a long haul flight arrived at the hotel at 8am but check in was not available. Staff said come at 12pm and then 2pm but check in was done at 3pm. Staff not very helpful. Did not respond to emails before arrival date. Hotel is on a busy noisy street, windows are not double glazed. No coffee or tea facilities in room. Limited hangers. Overall hotel was basic quality. Hotel was in a good location. Breakfast had a good choice."

"I just stayed here 2 weeks. The property was deceiving from the pictures. Not exactly the quality portrayed. The place could use some updates. The breakfast spread was really good but was crowded if you don’t get there early. I recommend being early and you won’t be disappointed. The cleaning staff was very unfortunate. "Excellent from the moment we checked in. The hotel is directly across from Copacabana beach. The beach amenities are compliments of the hotel, they offer at no extra charge, umbrellas, chairs and towels. The beach staff are very attentive and our belongings while enjoying the beach were kept safe. The rooftop pool and outdoor restaurant area provided delicious dining and drink options, as well as stunning views of Copacabana. The hotel staff made us feel at home and our room was very clean and accommodating, view a great view of Christ the redeemer. The breakfast every morning offered a wonderful selection and healthy juices, along with a spectacular view to get you ready for the day ahead. If you enjoy a good workout the gym at the hotel will not disappoint, you can get in a nice workout and again the views will make going to the gym worthwhile. We truly enjoyed our stay at Porto Bay Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana beach. "
