Location was ok for downtown SJ but extra care needed in area very close by. Wouldn't want to stray too far in the wrong direction after dark ( or early Sunday morning as we did !) would recommend this place. "

"Really nice place, rooms are small but you can go reading or discuss in the many places in the hôtel (cozy places) or on the little common terrasse. Clean place. Easy to walk from the hôtel to many places in the center of San José."

"The Hotel Novo was as described, great staff, hotel could do with some tlc but I was only one night here arriving late from the airport and heading to the Pacific next day. Room was clean, bed was comfy, WiFi worked fine and breakfast was much appreciated. Couldn't adjust the air con but that could have been user error from my side. Can't really complain from a price/quality point of view. Also there was no noise but I was not on the street side. Really handy if you are using the bus station."
