"We loved the place, quiet, clean and the owners were very nice to us. We stayed only one night. The next morning the lady gave us breakfast and we went our way to La Fortuna. We were able to have a fire pit at night it was very cool."

"We stayed here for only two nights for my birthday, as we wanted to splurge a bit. This is a gorgeous, very well manicured 5-star resort. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a higher level room for my birthday, so that front desk staff knew how to make an impression. The room was crazy amazing fabulous. Look at their website pics as they are very accurate. Expedia includes two tours when booking, so we got a fabulous night frog tour, and a half-day personalized tour of their wildlife sanctuary - Guide MICHAEL WAS AWESOME. We also participated in the butterfly release, which we will remember forever! The downside was the dinner restaurant (only one). The menu was super Americanized, and they were out of the one local fish! The first night took forever to get served, and they brought our appetizer, salad, and main dish all at once. The second night was my birthday, and although the server offered me a free dessert for my birthday, when they brought it, there was no candle, no offer to sing, no extra decoration on the plate, and no wishing me a happy birthday. I'm a little surprised by this as it was contrary to the front desk staff. Hey, Lee Banks, please train your restaurant staff to make a bigger deal of of birthdays. Also, put some more Costa Rican items on the menu! The food was VERY good for both breakfast (not included) and dinner, and beautifully plated. If you don't mind the price, don't miss this beautiful property, and ask for Michael as your guide! "

"The property was beautiful! So quiet during our stay. Was able to hear some noise from other people staying in the room next to us but not horrible at all! Paola was so pleasant and sweet! Javier was Also top notch as well! We enjoyed our stay so much! Breath taking views! Homemade breakfast and dinner! Not much for children to do around the property. Would say it's mostly for an adult peaceful stay! 10/10."

"This place is wonderful, a true relic of a simpler time. Beautiful property, with plants, birds, and a calm inviting atmosphere. The folks working are absolutely kind and hard working. The tipico breakfast was delicious and fajitas we tried one night were amazing! It is sad the city has grown around this gem! But we are so happy it is being kept up and beautiful! "

"This was our 4th trip to CR, and we have stayed in a different VRBO each time. This was the least-expensive home we have stayed in. While not luxurious, it was welcoming and comfortable. The gardens are stunning. My husband is a "pacer," and he spent lots of time strolling through the gorgeous hydrangeas, birds of paradise, etc. Hummingbirds and butterflies also enjoy the gardens. Eduardo and Betty are first-rate hosts. They were available without being obtrusive. Eduardo gave us a lesson in coffee roasting, and we brought home the 2 bags we prepared. Betty made us two meals, both wonderful. There are a couple of living spaces. The main lounge seating area is on the outdoor deck. Because of the winds, we weren't able to spend a lot of time there. The kitchen and dining area has table seating, but no couches. Two game tables fill the space. This area also has ample sliding doors that can be opened to gain access to the gardens while also letting in the breeze. I was surprised at how cool it was in the evenings and bought a pair of sweats to change into after the sun went down. This was a wonderful "home base" and we took Eduardo's suggestions for hiking areas within driving distance. "

"The moment the door of the property opened, I felt like I am looking at a slice of paradise, compared to the views I got on the drive from airport to the property. The room I stayed in is tastefully decorated, with a deck that sees a very good angle of the cloud shrouded mountain. The hosts are so flexible. The breakfast was simple but delicious, with good quality plates and utensils. Compared to the United States, my stay here felt like staying at a 4.5 star resort but paying for a 3-star in the United States. "

"Wonderful of the grid adventure! Like visiting family, the host is friendly and knowledgeable. You are right in the jungle with howler monkeys, colorful birds and lush vegetation. Rain on the tin roof at night made sleeping a tranquil experience."
