"Loved the warm welcome drink and hospitality. The grounds are beautiful and our room was over the top with all natural wood and stone decor. Our surname posted on the front door was a nice personalized touch! We loved the balcony hammock and jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and bathroom waterfall! Access to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a huge aviary, exotic wildlife and gorgeous waterfalls. The property is terraced on a hill so lots of stairs."

"This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores. The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants...

"This is a wonderful lodge for birding. You will see Resplendent Quetzals on the early morning tour (thank you to the guide!), and many other special species in Costa Rica right in the gardens and at your cabin windows (Long-tailed silky flycatcher and volcano hummingbird, for instance). This is a beautiful property, well maintained and quiet. You do have to walk on narrow pathways up and down a hillside to the cabins. "I hardly ever write a review unless it is to warn you but this place deserves my opinion. This place is amazing, David did everything to make sure our stay was unforgettable. The food is made with love. There are monkeys, birds of every kind, frogs and his knowledge of these animals is very impressive. You will feel like you are part of his family. Great communication before and after our stay. I will definitely come back. "

"Very cool place with good food and the staff was awesome. Location is pretty remote but worth the view. Would recommend only using vehicles with decent clearance. We had a Nissan rogue and that did the trick. "
