"This hotel is very conveniently located right next to York Barbican. I had an event there so this hotel was a great choice. The staff were prompt and friendly, and explained everything well. The property is very secure with the gate locked and a code required to unlock and access the building. I felt very safe! Everyone staying at the hotel was considerate and quiet. "Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff."

"A nice break away for a few days in York. The hotel is very central right next to Bootham Bar. Room large, cleans and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and large portions. The only problem was no parking on site and having to park at a nearby carpark cost £34 per day !!"

"We booked this property late on Saturday evening as we had a late confirmation on a job to go to locally, we didn`t get confirmation of the job till just before 7pm and then had to drive from Kidderminster, the receptionist stayed on an extra hour to greet us and check us in, absolutely fantastic service."

"Nice pub, our room was above bar so you could hear the bar below, it's a pub at the end of the day so you have to expect some noise. Room clean and tidy bed comfy shower good and hot, tea making facilities tea bags wont replenished. For the price of room it was value for money. Location good for the city center and railway station "
