"We stay at this property at least once a year, if not more. Usually it was ok, mostly because we rent the bay front rooms, and that view will "cover" a lot of the management's drawbacks. This time everything is horrible. They checked us in after 4pm, the rooms were not ready, and the manager yelled "we are short-staffed". For such a high price per night you cannot manage cleaning??? THEY WERE SO RUDE, it's unbelievable! Loud voicing, almost threatening! Never again we'll stay there."

"Location, location, location! Being on the beach was the best! Loved looking out at the ocean. The facilities were a bit outdated, but everything was clean enough. The location was nice and quiet, away from the beaten path and away from downtown La Jolla. Plenty of eating places within walking distance of the hotel. Easy enough to find parking on the street (free!), to avoid paying $40\night parking fee in the hotel garage."

"We were accidentally booked into smoking room which was awful, and the lady at the front desk was not interested in helping us, or even discussing it much, but the 2nd day, we were switched into non smoking and it was wonderful."
