"My wife and I recently made the short trip from the Buffalo, NY area to the town of Skaneatles, which we have been to many times. However, this was the first time renting a house in the area as we wanted to bring our two dogs. We could not have been more pleased with this home and its location. Only about a two-three minute drive from the town of Skaneatles, it provided us with a "home away from hone" setting while still being able to conveniently go into town for dinner, drinks and shopping....

"The stay here was very peaceful. Various birds on the water. Spotted a fox roaming the shoreline. Enjoyed morning coffee sitting at the kitchen table looking at the lake. We had a brilliant sunset the first evening we were there. While being remote we enjoyed the closeness of Ithaca and the historic village of Aurora. If you enjoy art, check out the Herbert F. Johmson Museum of Art. "

"The house was absolutely gorgeous. Big open floor plan plenty of room for the eight of us that were there. The bed was so comfy, we cooked a few meals in the apt as well, and enjoyed a lovely morning walk around the pond into the neighboring field/park they’ve cleared. Host was extremely responsive and easy to contact. We had a very lovely time!"

"This VRBO is on a property with two other houses…owned by same family…All vacation rentals👍just minutes from downtown Skaneatles . It’s a wonderful location —gorgeous/beautifully decorated—-comfortable beds and quality bedding— homes are remodeled , very clean, and well stocked… The owner Debbie is very attentive…and always available 😊We have stayed many times and at a few of their locations . "This is house is nice on the main floor. The lower floor indeed had a musty smell. We were going to use both floors but did not end up using the lower floor. The musty smell was bothersome. We tried to open the windows but either they were labeled to not be opened up or they did not work. I think if your were able to open the windows that would help. The main floor was well stocked for cooking and the deck and inside seating was great. The beds were comfortable. "

"This property was so beautiful and located honestly within walking distance to the town of Aurora . Mackenzie Childs is right down the road as well. We went in mid October and therefore missed the swimming season. I was bound and determined to go kayaking but I forgot My life jacket. I recommend bringing your own towels as the ones provided were very basic. If you’re going to cook a lot bring all spices and provisions. There are three bedrooms each with their own private bathroom. Huge game...
