"Really lovely old hotel, with a wonderful history if you’re interested in spy’s and the world wars. Food and decoration is great and the luxury wash products make everything smell wonderful. Open kitchen, a breakfast that’s worth the whole stay. The roads in are difficult if you don’t usually drive single tracks so opt to go in and out towards Milton Keynes as they are slightly easier to navigate or better for expensive cars and wheels. Check your route first as it was about 2 miles of single track roads. Well worth the stay swimming pool was brilliantly maintained and very clean. Sauna and spa were set at a good temperature and again very clean. "

"I stayed here before Christmas to avoid falling asleep on the motorway driving north after an overnight flight to Heathrow and it was the perfect place to break the journey. The Bedford Arms is on the edge of the tiny village of Chenies and is a warm and charming small hotel with very comfortable rooms, a good restaurant and bar. The staff were all very helpful and attentive, especially the female manager - I felt very welcome and looked after. The beautiful and ancient Chenies Manor House is within walking distance but sadly was not open to visitors the day I was there. "

"We were due to arrive outside the normal check in times, so we spoke to Richard who arranged a key pick up point and gave clear concise instructions. Nothing was too much. Thank you all for a great stay, we would definitely come again. "

"We had booked three rooms. Our room nothing worked. It was a very cold night and walking up the stairs to the room you could feel it blowing a gale. There was a radiator in the room that was luke warm with the valve fully opened. There were another three plug in heaters around the room, none of which worked and an electric towel rail which was switched on but no heat, the bathroom was freezing. I asked who I believe to be the manager if he could check the fuse and try and get heaters working. Later that night returning to our room, still the plug in heaters or heated towel rail were not working. In the morning went to bathroom only to discover no door handle on inside, so my wife had to let me out from the outside. Tried to put TV on, and make a cup of tea putting on the kettle, but, not working. Nice hair dryer at bottom of wardrobe, but pretty sure would not work if plugged in. One of the other rooms had same problems as us, and the last room had heating but could not lock main room door. Pleasant staff and nice bar area, but would really have enjoyed stay if the above worked."

"Stayed in room 8. There was black mould on the on the ceiling , mould on the bottom shower trim, no plug in the bathroom, the water from the tap only tricked.. There was cobwebs in the room , the window didn't close. There was thick dust on the top of the wardrobe and on the top of the 4 poster bed, only one side lamp was plugged into an electrical socket, there was no mattress protector and the mattress was 4 inches from the headboard.i was not given the wi fi password so I couldn't use their internet.
