"The water had a wierd smell, the onsen was boiling hot to the point where we couldn't tolerate it, and the food was not good. All 3 of us got food poisoning from the "traditional Japanese breakfast " they served"

Ajisai is a ryokan or traditional Japanese inn tatami-matted rooms, futons and private onsens or natural hot springs. Upon making a reservation, the hotel sent us a detailed email with directions and advice. The managers/owners are lovely and very helpful. When you arrive, you can feel the peaceful atmosphere. "Booked this room for the private onsen and it was quite a lovely experience. We brought our luggage to them early in the morning and asked them to hold it until our check in so we could explore and after we checked in and made it to our room they sent someone to bring the luggage up. There was a breakfast buffet included with our room and it had a really nice variety of foods from western to Japanese. Staff spoke great English "

"We enjoyed our stay in this hotel/ryokan, it has clean and spacious room with private onsen. There is a Family Mart right beside it which is great. The other dining options nearby are about 20min walk away, so it will be better to drive. The hotel does offer dinner at it's restaurant but you need to reserve before 7pm the day before you want to dine there. We took the option with breakfast which is the usual Japanese spread with seasonal fish. Will stay here again for sure."

"We had an amazing stay. It was such a rejuvenating experience! The mat beds were probably the most comfortable sleep we’ve ever gotten and the always hot hot spring tub will be something I dream about forever. Food was amazing, although the portions are almost too much for one meal. We left each meal stuff beyond belief and partially dreaded not being hungry enough to eat the next one haha. Such an amazing stay, we would most definitely come back again!"
