"Hotel was booked for convience and had used before. Booking in was straight forward. Room was closer to reception this time which was great. The only issue was that one large towel looked dirty like it had make up on with mascara. We did try to ring reception but the phone in the room didn’t work and when rang the hotel from my mobile it cut of twice after a long while no body answering . That was disappointing when was told any problems to call them. Yes I could off gone to reception , but I...

"I have been here a few times over many years. It is absolutely at its best now! Stayed in a 'garden' room, which was excellent with a peak at the lake through the trees. The restaurant was a delight with an excellent menu and beautifully prepared food at dinner and breakfast (i loved the kippers). Staff were all exceptional. I'll be back. "

"Good location next to Lake Windermere and we had a great view of the lake from our room - very atmospheric in the early morning mist! Room lovely and warm and well appointed although a little more floorspace would not have gone amiss. Breakfast was very good - a decent amount of food, very tasty and well cooked. We also enjoyed the pool and sauna/steam rooms as well. Hotel is very well located with many pubs/restaurants/cafes within easy walking distance."
