"The staff were amazing and certainly added to the stay. Breakfast was great too. I would recommend the hotel consider a thicker mattress topper as that certainly would have helped as you can feel the gap between the beds and the mattress is a very hard one, not used to that and the pillows were very lumpy and not too comfortable either. But apart from that the hotel was lovely. Fantastic location. The staff are the star of the hotel for sure "

"We had a suite which was lovely. The only downside is that it was cold. The heating was barely adequate even on full power and the Quilts were very thin. It seemed to be that the whole wing of the hotel with the suite in was cold. Also it was a Saturday night and very noisy outside. "

"The hotel, food, staff and interior decor was great, however, we stayed with family and had 2 rooms on the ground floor. Our room was 108 and was fine apart from the tv being sitting too low on a cabinet to watch in bed. The bathroom extractor fan did not work but this did not spoil our stay. Room 109 where my mother stayed had an awful view of what I can only describe as old furniture, chairs bicycles and overgrown vegetation feet away from the window. This was visible due to the 6 foot fence...

"Very nice building and room. Heater in the room was very noisy and clicked all night until we had to switch it off. Breakfast was very good but the breakfast room was very cold "

I'm certain the staff would have addressed this immediately if we had gotten around to mentioning it, but it wasnt that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. "

"Amazing hotel worth every penny, great central location and best hotel I have stayed in York. Room was huge had corner sofa and lots of nice touches including robes, proper mugs, ear plugs, eye mask, bottled water and a huge king size bed. Excellent service by the staff and breakfast was beautiful full English or can order off the menu very healthy no fat at all."
