"We had a single night as we were cycle touring. The rooms and hotel were clean and pleasant, but the staff really set it apart. They were very accommodating, especially with making sure that our bikes were secure. We ate dinner in the pub across the road, which was OK.."

"The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The room was great and the views are spectacular. Prices for eating are very reasonable. Easy to go for long walks on the promenade or the beaches. Close to other amenities, shops, etc. Surrounded by lovely countryside to go exploring."

"Overall, the stay was very good and was perfect for our trip to the Lake District. The location is perfect for navigating the Lakes as easy access to the M6. To the top of the lakes, it took us 1 hour by car. The continental breakfast served was plenty to start each day with. You can have cooked for £12 extra but we felt the continental option was more than enough. The room was spacious and up to date. We stayed in the Herdsman. "Lovely property. Very nice rooms and spa was good. Food excellent but due to being very busy there was quite a wait for food and drinks: 30 minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were excellent. "

"Very easy access to seafront and town. 3 mins from train station that could take you to other coastal and inland towns or as far away as Manchester and beyond. Breakfast good as was bar menu. Never tried dinning or the pool."
