"Don’t hesitate to stay at Hotel Belmar with your family. First time to Costa Rica and we wanted a hotel with a beautiful atmosphere- close to the cloud forests, clean and good food and drink. This is it- the hotel was even more beautiful on the inside than I expected. I love the small details like an actual tree to hold the sinks in the guest bathroom area. "The staff wasn't friendly at all. There is a smell coming from the sewage in the rooms. Overall property is good located but roads coming to property is in bad condition. "

"10/10 hotel. Family of 4 (2 adults 2 12 yr old). Staffs were helpful and very friendly. No uber in this town. They helped us arranged taxi pickup and drop off. Location is perfect quick walk to downtown, supermarkets and restaurants. Room is spacious and clean. Water pressure was a little low for shower. Otherwise everything is perfect. Loved the marshmallow they provided. Would recommend and would stay here again."

"Wonderful experience. The rooms are all along a steep hill and have great views. We were given Room 28 Premium King bed which is close to the top of the hill and the views were stunning. The hotel has a number of golf carts and someone can take you up there if you need help. The grounds are beautiful and there are trails behind the property which lead to the Aguti reserve to which the hotel provides free admission. The staff and service was excellent as was the hotel restaurant, El Sapo. ...

"I wish I could give this place a rave review because the family who owns it was so friendly and helpful, but it did not live up to our expectations in ways other than the good service. Our "panoramic view" room did not have a panoramic view. This was rated a 4-star hotel, but really isn't one. Our room was rustic, smelled musty, and the bed clothes were old. The breakfast was good, and there were lots of animals and birds on the grounds, and there was a lovely view, just not from our room. "
