"We had an unique experience staying here. Shoes ares kept in lockers next to hotel entrance. We walked on the soft, comfortable tatami throughout the hotel common area. The hotel provides mechanic car park - which is helpful, so we don't have to worry about our car being subject to snow or cold. Highly recommend this hotel."

"We picked this hotel to stay at while visiting Matsumoto because it was budget friendly and we were headed farther south to our next stop and I think it was a good pick except that the closest train was nearly a mile walk. Otherwise, the public bath, free buffet breakfast, eco-consciousness, and friendly staff made this stay great! As westerners we are used to a bit more space so the bathroom felt a little constricting but there was actually some closet space which we didn't have in some of our other smaller Japan lodging spots! Toiletries and tea powder were placed in the lobby for self service. Good Japanese system but must get used to it. Overall, it is an excellent hotel. "

"Clean, quiet, and convenient location. Most importantly, the quality of bed is amazing. I always suffer from bad jet lag for at least first few days after arriving from east coast (US), this is a first night I was able to sleep straight for 7 hours! The room was more spacious than one in Tokyo where I spent before coming to Matsumoto. Free delicious Japanese style breakfast which I am very happy with. Certainly it worths the price. The only problem I had was the room was not available until 4 pm. I had to change my clothes in the rest room and missed one hour nap. Nevertheless, I liked this place and will be back again when I am visiting Matsumoto next time."
