"Reception staff very helpful. An adjoining door to the next room wasn’t locked but they sorted it immediately. Easy to park ( and free). Plenty of spaces but no football match on so that may not be the case if there’s a home game, as the hotel is next to the stadium. A bit of a walk into town but doable. Not too noisy. Shower wasn’t very hot but acceptable."

"Checked in mid evening and was cold outside. Was informed at check in that the team had been to my room and closed the curtains and put the heating on so it was not cold. Wow now that’s some check in service "

"The location was ok, close to the Metro Centre & other shopping options. The room was a bit tired looking and SO hot, the options are having the heater on or off, theres no thermostat to adjust the room temperature. The bed was a double which was rather cosy! Probably my fault for not checking that on booking. Breakfast is included, it was ok. The hash browns were a bit soggy & the bacon was underwhelming. Staff at breakfast seemed more intent on loudly discussing their lives in the kitchen...

"A lovely overnight stay at Gateshead. Clean spacious room with a very large (King) bed. Could have done with taking some light shoes or slippers as the floor was not carpeted although this was good for hygiene. Good breakfast with excellent quality sausage and bacon. Eggs were replaced frequently. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed over after a gig at The Glasshouse (5 minutes walk)."

"It was great value for the price. The hotel has clearly been recently refurbished. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. The bed was very firm but that suited me. Air con/heating options. Good sized TV. Modern bathroom with a good shower and very hot water (but an unnecessarily odd and impractical tap in the basin!) I'd be happy to stay here again for the price I paid."

"Although i'm a local booked Valentines night to avoid late night taxi queues (i needn't have bothered Newcastle was very quiet). The hotel is close enough to the city centre but in a slightly quieter area. The staff were very friendly and our hotel room 419 was great, no bath but nice shower, clean and tidy. We tried the bar, still serving around midnight, again friendly staff. The breakfast was fine and nowhere near as busy as i expected. Would use the hotel again "

"Though location is on Services but definitely more than a a Services hotel and more than 2 state as rated. Spacious n clean room and Bathroom with air on / central heating. Lockbox didn’t work for self check but was checked in with standard key card quote promptly. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful."
