"The room that we booked was not as advertised on the website, we chose a superior double as not too many stairs but the room we were given was another flight of stairs up. Had to phone the hotel number as no one available to talk to in person but in saying that was quickly resolved and a ground floor room was thankfully available. "Me and my wife really enjoyed our stay at Little Haven, the location of the hotel suited me as I'm a ex seamen, so the views of ships departing and arriving were fantastic, you can also enjoy nice strolls along the promenade and easy reach of south shields. Wonderful

"I was looking for a soft place to land for my dog and me, and Sofia's place offered just that! It was cosy, and an easy walk to Northumberland Park and Tynemouth. It was also useful to have a little Morrison's daily store on the corner to pick up a few necessities. I would definitely recommend it, and would stay again."

Terrace View Home in South Shields, Sleeps 7

Great base for access to beaches, parks, funfair and other amenities

"We stayed for a week at Madeira Terrace. South Shields is my home town so I knew that the property was a short car journey to the seafront due to having small children with us. For adults or older children it's an easy 15-20 minute walk. The property has 4 large bedrooms which were spacious, had comfortable beds and ample wardrobe space. The host was really keen to ensure that we had what we needed and was prompt in responding to queries. The kitchen was very well equipped with electric hob, oven, microwave oven, clothes washer and tumble drier. There's a combi boiler which meant that there was always a plentiful supply of hot water. I hadn't realised when I booked that there was no dining table so we had to take a high chair and small table for the children. We also took stairgates as the property is on the first and second floors. The property was very clean and warm. The bathroom was well equipped with bath and shower over the bath. The only suggestion for improvement is that the bathroom is starting to look tired and could do with a bit of a makeover. Overall we had a really good time here and the flat felt like home by the end of our week there."
