"Convenient location off the motorway near Kendal, less east of travelling north. Wasn’t clear if there was specific parking and couldn’t park close to doors so difficult with luggage. Rooms were a bit tired and needs some maintenance. Staff were friendly. Recommend purchasing food at the services further north as only Costa and McDonald’s available "

"We chose this hotel as we wanted a quiet night away not too far from home and away from the busy tourist areas and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to judge a place on a quiet weeknight in November but we had a lovely stay. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. "Lovely hotel and lovely friendly owners who even greeted us on arrival . Lovely location however felt the place itself was a bit tired looking …. No nice toiletries and all the coffee sachets had sugar in . We couldn’t see the stunning view due to excess condensation to the inside of the window. There was no bath plug either . "

"The hotel is inconspicuous on a dreary day but has double doors from the bar to the street so would be lovely on a summers day. The rooms are spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was fitted with a lovely modern shower and the vista was straight out to the Bay (which was sadly freak and dreary). One lady (Margaret) was amazing. "We stayed at the Clarenden for one night. Communication leading up to the stay was excellent. The hotel was traditional with original features but comfortable for the modern guest. The room was quite small but comfortable and clean. It was a very cold night leading up to the recent storm and the room was quite cold. Apart from that it was a very pleasant stay. "

"Fantastic place to stay. We used it as a base to visit the lakes and dales for a couple of days. Hotel/pub was in a lovely little village. We were in the Superior room which had a lovely view overlooking the river. Room itself was big with a nice comfortable double bed. Cleanliness was ok, room had clearly been cleaned however just a few marks on the wall. This didn't matter too much or affect our stay. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Great Weekend Break

"Nice caravan, situated close to all amenities, if you have stayed in a Haven Park before this caravan would be classed as a Bronze accommodation, to give you the comparison if you were to book your stay with Haven direct. Weather was great, park very busy with the weekend campers (tents) this area was packed, kids play park was a free for all, I would say too small for the amount of families staying onsite, wonder what the middle of summer holidays would be like when all caravans and camping areas are full. A great base if you want to explore the Lake District."
