"Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The entire staff were incredibly knowledgeable, professional and very quick to respond to all of our questions and needs. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and conveniently located steps from the beach. The hotel has its own clean private trail through the jungle leading straight to the sandy beach. One day we saw howler monkeys in the trees above us on the trail. We will be back to Hotel El Manglar for sure! "

"Property is a little run down. The pool has 2 loungers that look like they have not been cleaned in a long while. No outdoor shower for the pool. Apartment is very large and the view is beautiful. Not very walkable as it is up on a hill thus the beautiful view. A long walk to beaches but we had a vehicle."

"The agency (Special Places) was very nice, but this unit was on the bottom floor with a view of a roof awning & glimpse of ocean. It’s one of the older buildings in a poorly planned resort area that has no Costa Rican vibe. The interior was dated, sad, and had padlocks on some cabinets. I was so disappointed and asked if there were any other options. We paid $100 more per night & stayed at the Oceanica. "
