"This stay and experience was great for us. Nice, clean comfortable house tucked in along the access road to Playa Penca. Steps away from the incredibly beautiful beach. If looking for a private, slow paced, relaxing experience- this is it. The setting is a small beach town in a Costa Rican community. It is not a resort area. With a car you can get to resort areas, shopping and adventure activities.We did not have a car, but we found that most activities/ tours would pick us up and drop us back off. There are a few local places to eat and a wonderful gelato shop within easy walking distance. But access to groceries limited. You will want to plan arrangements to pick up groceries on your way in. The Hosts will help with suggestions for groceries and activities. Be sure to talk to them before you arrive. The Hosts were super friendly, helpful and responsive if we needed anything. Melissa introduced us to the mountain road "power walk". Their cats and dogs were very friendly too.This house is quite accessible and would be easy for most people get around in. Small ramp to the front porch, barrier free walk in shower , pretty much all one level.We enjoyed bird watching, monkey visits and other wildlife encounters from the back screened in room and the front porch. Kitchen had what we needed for simple meal prep.The WiFi was great.Having access to laundry room was VERY appreciated since we had been traveling around for a week prior to arriving at the house."

"Pro: Great hotel right on the beach - literally the other side of the low hotel wall is the beach. You could not get closer. MANY, MANY great restaurants within 100yds of the hotel and easy walk, even at night. Flamingo and Tamarindo beach are very short drive, but you have a great beach and all amenities at this hotel. Good hotel to end a trip when you are leaving from LIR which is 1 hr drive away. This was our 2nd visit in 10 years and we would come again. Cons: A bit pricey, but not outrageous. Check out is noon and hard to change with this popular hotel. If you leave from LIR when flights leave at 6pm then you have a lot of time to spare, but hotel will hold suitcases after checkout and you can still enjoy the amenities."

"This home was fantastic. We feel that the actual place was even better than the pictures, The views of the beach and water were spectacular with beautiful sunsets every night. We were a family ranging in age from 3 to 73. Everyone was happy and comfortable with plenty of space to spread out. Marvin, the property caretaker, was very helpful and prompt in answering any questions that we had. We felt very save and secure. We highly recommend. "

"This property was amazing. wonderful facilities, plenty of room, gathering places, sunset views! It was painful to leave! Gustav and Moises were amazing in the kitchen. The cleaners were like elves cleaning the space around us. The staff was always there to help. Concierge was amazing as well. Setting up our trips, making last minute changes - service with a smile. Thank you for all of you support ot make this the best vacation ever! Pura Vida!!! "

"We were a group of 3 couples and this house was perfect for us. We spent very little time in it but when we did it was very comfortable and clean. We took full advantage of the outdoor seating areas and especially enjoyed coffee in the morning on the crows nest watching the Howler Monkeys and evening cocktails for sunset. If there was anything at all we needed Christelle and Chan were available to answer a questions and make it happen. The preferred way of communication is WhatsApp so best to have that available. The grounds and pool were tended to on a regular basis. We looked forward to Chan and Christelle visits and happy smiles. The groundskeeper and cleaning people were all efficient and polite as well. We rented golf carts and were so happy we did! Although many things are walkable you can explore much more! They are also terrific for grocery runs!"

"The Villa was spacious and well laid out. We enjoyed the huge deck and the views were amazing. We took advantage of the pool area and the beaches were a short walk and both were lovely. The property owner responded quickly to questions and arranged to have a playpen and high chair for our grand daughter, which we really appreciated. "

"Enjoyed our time at The Balcony. The views, pool,and air conditioning were excellent. We loved waking up to Vicky and Bismarck making breakfast and always looked forward to a delicious dinner in the evenings. The property has several different sitting and gathering spaces. "
