"The Hotel Helvetia was perfect for my short stay in Zermatt. I had read many of the previous reviews so I was prepared. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the train station, there is no elevator and my room was quite small but had a balcony overlooking the street filled with people. The hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants. This hotel was quite reasonably priced and in a great location."

"I gave the property 4 stars for the age of the property, especially in the room (carpet, decor, etc.), and incrediblye tiny-ness of the bathroom-- it's smaller than RV bathrooms but gets the job done. HOWEVER, for the area and for primarily being a ski resort rental, it was way more than adequate and I'd definitely stay there again. "Just stayed the night in order to take the Bernina Express train the next morning, but overall very cute hotel. They were very helpful, breakfast was lovely the next morning, even though we were a little rushed to get the train. The room was cozy, had what we needed, I'm not a fan of carpet in hotels, so I would say it could be updated a bit, but overall nice stay."

"Really clean hotel with all the amenities you need. Basic but it’s what you pay for. The location is ideal as it’s very central. Was kindly upgraded to a private bathroom too and the 10% discount for the restaurant is a bonus which was excellent food. The woman on reception was very helpful and kind too. "The hostel room is clean and spacious. But there is no elevator. It is difficult to carry the luggage upstairs. I am a senior and the room is on the 3rd floor. When I asked the manager whether the seniors can get the rooms on 1st floor. She said no and we can get rooms with elevator in a more expensive hotel."
