"We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel and for us, it was a perfect stop to explore the area. If you are looking for full a service hotel, it's not for you but as we weren't, it's easy relaxed feel was just right. "This property is such a wonderfully unique place. Owner Richard is an avid mountaineer, hence the namesake “base camp”. The property is traditional, cozy, welcoming, and nicely updated with modern technology. The staff is super friendly. The view of Matterhorn from our room is gorgeous. The breakfast is very good. This is definitely the highlight of our vacation in the Swiss Alps. We would highly recommend it."
