"There was no food available due to refurbishment of the kitchen but a staff member Toni took me in her car to the nearest Chinese takeaway - a service above and beyond the call of duty. Very helpful friendly staff. The hotel is not actually in the town of Mold as I thought but in Northop, a few miles outside."

I was locked out of my accommodation on the first night and had to sleep elsewhere on a couch because the auto key arrangements were not made and I could not gain access to my room. "We had a really fantastic night at the Shepherds Hut! Its a truly stunning setting and very well appointed little hut, the gas fire is great and the underfloor heating gives some real comfort! A few improvements in regards to communication, location details and a welcome book with instructions for the fire, local information etc would really raise this to the PERFECT destination!
