The kitchen is well appointed as is the open design living and dining room. Having access to a full size washer and dryer is a huge bonus given the amount of rain on this side of the island. "We were making a multi-day road trip around the Big Island and needed a place to stay after a couple of days in Volcanoes NP. We chose the Lava Bus because it was such a unique property. We were so happy we did! It is a bit of a drive to get to any services (around 20 minutes to gas/groceries) but it was an amazing location for seeing the stars at night and enjoying peace and quiet. It felt very remote, but at the same time the bus itself was so well-appointed that it felt somehow luxurious....

"A peaceful getaway in the rain forest near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with a great setup. We loved the privacy, the space, the easy access (that still gave a feeling of remoteness), the comfortable bed, the gas fireplace, the whirlpool tub and the wonderful kitchen.
