The folks are really nice there. The property is really beautiful. The hot tub on the property was really nice.It can get pretty cold there at night in volcano and there weren't enough blankets and no heater.. it's a nice touch that there's an in-room jacuzzi tub but it was not clean.

We booked a room at the last minute after our original booking canceled due to plumbing issues, and although the host at the Crater Lodge was pleasant, our room was surfaced cleaned only and the breakfast was light fruit, biscotti cookie and packaged outmeal. A coffee machine & coffee was supplied and there was Internet with a variety of TV channels. The property was very rustic & quiet, but it could use some upgrades & a deep clean.

It was a beautiful property, a tropical paradise with all the beautiful flowers. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which was just lovely and cozy. It was really nice having tea, fruits, and ramen noodles waiting for us on a cold rainy day.

Our stay was great! Rm 3 that we stayed in was nice - had a queen bed and a twin bed. Small set up for kitchen (microwave and refrigerator, Plates, cups, etc - no sink but dishes we done by the owner every day) Had a small bathroom; but was sufficient for our needs. Less than a couple miles to Volcano National Park which was very convenient. Beautiful grounds. I would stay here again.

This is a really good property. The inside is clean with very nice decoration. Outside like botanical garden. And also it is only a few miles to volcano park. Will stay here again if visit here in the future.

We loved our stay at Aloha Crater. It's a unique family-built place in the rainforest just outside Volcanoes Nat'l Park. Easy to find, only 5 minutes from the park visitor center. If you're looking for a sterile, cookie-cutter Hyatt-type place this isn't it. The hosts are responsive, the rooms are spacious, the gardens around are gorgeous. We loved the chorus of coqui frogs at night.

It was unclear whether we were to have breakfast or not. We thought we were getting the continental breakfast but because we had a kitchen (which we didn’t use) we were not given breakfast. As far as the lava tube goes, we were told you had to have a guided tour. Communication in advertising not clear.

Great stay close to Volcanoes National Park!
Lovely place to stay when visiting Volcanoes National Park. We stayed in room 3 which was comfortable and had a microwave and fridge. Nice touch with having breakfast left of yoghurts, fruits, cereal bars etc. Would recommend.

We stayed in the room 6 (Orchid room) and it was such a cool and unique space! Wish we could have stayed longer and would happily return. The breakfast options were great as well for our room.
