"Not the smoothest of steep roads up the hill but well worth it when you get there. Takes about ten minutes off the main road so not handy if you are heading in and out all the time but so secluded and quiet when you are there. The view alone is worth the effort. The spacious room was more than adequate. "

"Wonderful location in the middle of the rainforest. You can hear the high winds whipping above, but protected in the thick layers of the forest, just a small cool breeze standing on the balcony. Bed was very comfortable."

"The shower's hot water is not strong enough, so you need to turn the water volume way down to have a decent temperature shower. The room sound insulation is very poor and you can easily hear the tv from next room. The room service is ok, and the bed was not set every day."

"Arenal Xilopalo was well situated in area providing quiet evenings and beautiful breakfast views of the bird’s local to the area. Rooms were spacious but outdated. If looking for luxury this is not the place. It is affordable, roomy, and meets needs for a group traveling. Loved the rates to book excursions through hotel also. Did many things and staff were amazing. Night tour by guide on property was worth the pictures we will have for a lifetime. Much gratitude for this place. "

"Pros: refrigerator, 2nd floor (bars on windows, blinds, and locks on windows/doors), parking, A/C in the bedroom, additional blankets, towels provided, sugar, tea/coffee and basic cooking utensils. Lots of facecloths in the bathroom. Soap dispensers. Geckos (they were cute). Walkable to downtown/restaurants. Kind hosts. Responsive and proactive - replaced towels, and recommended driving through Rio Celeste to get to the location from Liberia airport as it’s a safer roadway. We understood...
